Thoughts?

Personally, everytime I think of the man, I think of that scene in The Big Lebowski when Peter Stormare (leader of the nihilists) says, "Vee believe in nothing, Lebowski!"

He did make valuable contributions to Individualism, though.

Marx and Engels had a lot of good things to say about Stirner. In a letter to Marx, Engels wrong sympathetically about Stirner's work and, either before or after he wrote German Ideology, Marx commented on how Stirner managed to "break through" the ideological veil of modern society and show how concepts such as justice and law are just constructs made by individuals.

Stirner is invoked a lot in post-left anarchy literature (perhaps mostly famously would be Days of War Nights of Love, though he isn't explicitly mentioned). Sadly, he doesn't seem to be mentioned a lot in political and ethical philosophy works.

Stirner was a badass. His critique of religion is face-melting.

The whole "egoist" thing is sketchy as hell, but the he's got some good philosophical grounding for anarchists.
