I think I just found a form of society/government that supports gender equality without holding one gender superior to another like Patriarchy/Matriarchy but sadly it's rarely mentioned anywhere.

thoughts?

Looks interesting to say the least, I didn't even realise that there was such a word/definition for an equal gender website. That in itself is a pity, most probably would not consider it an option.

I was reading on cultural anthropology and this term came up, but is it possible to achieve such thing?

I think that zygarchal societies were kept to a minimum back before everything was dominated by the patriarchal. Myths, early religions, and paganistic creation stories usually involved some sort of beings, male and female, which would then lead to a society becoming patriarchal or matriarchal.

ie) Zeus was the leader of the gods on Mt. Olympus. Zeus was a man. Thus- Patriarchal society.

The only way I could see a nonsexist society come into being would be one without religious dogmas, which would be very hard to find- if they even existed.

Society is travelling in the direction of gender equality now, so I hardly why it's so difficult to imagine a 'zygarchical' society coming into being.
Religious dogma in the west is also gradually becoming less and less of a social force.
A non-sexist society may be hard to find now, but it may not be in the future.

Regardless, I'm not particularly sure what thoughts one is supposed to have on this. Of course as communists, we should be aiming for gender equality - 'gender equality' is mentioned in a lot of places, it goes without saying... even if the more technical term 'Zygarchy' is not!

communism naturally encompasses this "zygarchy", though it might take a while post-revolution untill things are completely "zygarchical".
