whats up with system of a down

So system of a down is one of my favorite bands, and I can't find anywhere that will give me a definite answers have they broke up? I know they r doing different things now but will they come back?

They have'nt "broken up", as it were, but they are all obviously taking a break from each other and the band for the time being.

Some of the members are still doing music as solo artists or with side projects.

Also Serj owns his own record label, as well as recently doing some solo stuff, so that should keep him busy for a while at least.

They have not broke up but i dont think you will get any new releases out of them for a good few years.

"On hiatus". They said they may be back sometime but, at the same time said "we'll always be System of a Down" which sounds like they aren't really too bothered if it happens or not. Neither am I.

You should check out Serj's solo CD. It is pretty good, it is not as heavy as system, but it replaces it with world-e-ness.

I read in ultimate-guitar.com , that the guitarist had said that a reunion is not in their minds at the time considering the sucess they have with their own projects, they arent my fav band but have good tunes
