Red_Anarchist I congratulate you for your effort.

However, the real meaning of this song is its attack on people's reliance on technology and how that has lead to alienation and a collapse of community values.

'To the neon god they made' - surely must be television no? The streets are empty - everyone is too busy watching the dummyvision.

Well that's my interpretation at least.

I just take the verses literally most of the time. I think your analysis of the song sounds correct.
