Vatican and Templar knights

so what tha fuck they whant to prove with this?
that they are smugglers,thiefes and murderers or they are been just keepers of gods secret? :P

I'm not sure but I think it exposes the power struggle between the French king and the Knights Templars with the former insisting on the Vatican to declare the Knights Templars "heretics" because the French King owned them a lot of money and didn't want to give it back. Vatican agreed at the end relectantly.

Edit: I don't think there's anything "interesting" going on with the Knights Templars, except for the fact that they got to travel to distant places, meet with exotic people (and killed them) and ended up as extremely rich and powerful loan sharks.

Unfortunately for them, it was feudalism back then and money couldn't buy their lives when they are up against both "Lord Temporal" and "Lord Spiritual".


I think by releasing the document the Vatican just wanted to "rebuttal" all the conspiracy theories regarding Knights templar.
