Ok so im asking for those of you who live one the other side of the Atlantic How is the Situation in Europe right now i see lots of threads about Immigration and Nazis etc so can i get like a debrifing so i can kinda get an idea whats going on and how public opinon is on certian issues and why etc..

Well, I can't say anything is going on right now or anything.

Perhaps you mean the thing with Switzerland, they had this poster in where three white sheep, standing on the Swiss flag, kicked out a black sheep. This was the propaganda poster of the ruling party (Swiss People's Party?), so if you mean that then I agree.

Then we have the European anti-Turkish thing, which is quite stupid. It seems they can't officially state why they feel Turkey can't join, my finger has always been on racism and islamophobia, but they keep stating the thing with Kurdistan, and how Turkey would border the Middle East (and somehow, terrorist would now gain easy access to the EU), not the same culture etc.

True. U-V, any specifics? I know that some American ultraconservative pundits love to talk about how Europe is about to be taken over by "The Muslims", but that's about as unlikely as their claim that America is being taken over by "The Mexicans". :lol:

If Turkey were in the EU They'd be the largest and most populous nation, this would give them almost overwhelming political power in the european parliment.

Plus Turkey has a pretty bad human rights record and it would mean only one border to cross from Syria, Iraq and Iran to get into the EU and that would peeve off the more powerful western EU members.

No they wouldn't. Germany has a population of 82 million, whilst Turkeys is 71 million.

That is an estimate. I wouldn't be surprised to find out it is much higher when the census comes. It certainly has the fastest growing population in Europe.

Not necessarily. The most important organ of European governance, the Council of Ministers, comrpises two delegates (usually Presidents, Prime Ministers etc) of each member country: and this is where the most important decisions are taken.

And in the face of countries such as the UK, France, Germany, Italy...will Turkey's opinions really be held as equally or more important than these major international forces?

Sorry i wasnt more specific well i wasnt cuase i kinda of want like a broad view of what going on i always as you know the U.S has the whole atni imigratn shit too but in europe they have one too and i want to know were are these people coming form and and whats the major public opinion about it.



the whole thing with turey is that it just wouldnt really benifit the E.U economicaly isnt it? thats what i heard


I'd also like to know what just whats going on around were you live for Ex. here in Califas the shit was burning down and we had a protest agianst the war The O.C sherif is Being Indited for corruption etc.. just so i have like a Picutre of whats the political climate over thier just to have an idea Thnx for your time
