Hey, i know i'm real late but i finally seen Saw 1 on tuesday and bought Saw 2 yesterday. I have yet to see Saw 3, so please no spoilers!

Anyway, i was never a horror movie fan and even these movies had alot of tense moments. But i think that's what i liked about it more. It was more suspenseful than it was gory.

What do you think?

And even though Saw 2 was crazier, i think the first one was more believable.

i liked the movies, they were made very well for the budget they were on and i liked the plot. i just really hated jigsaw.

the first one was hands down the best IMO. the second was good as well but didnt nearly have the same "saw" feeling the first one did. as for the third one, i just didnt like it. i'll probably go and see saw 4 sometime soon but i dont have high expectations.

The first one was the only one I really liked. The second film was more of an Halloween/Friday 13th/Hellraiser-run-around-the-house with a bunch of teenagers (as usual). The third was better, although all the gore blocked the plot.

There is a fourth movie?

It comes out in theaters this weekend.

Never seen those movies. But i just didn't like the premise of tons of people walking around a house that has a puzzle in each door. In saw one, i didn't know what was going on. I thought i knew who the killer was but was completely wrong.

In Saw 2, it was obvious that someone in the group new way more than what they was letting on. The ending was still surprising, but it just didn't feel real.'

Saw one was like, omg this is a crazy muthafucka. Saw 2 is like this motha fucka put too much time into this shit.

I love films like this and Se7en, which are basically reflecting the fears of Middle America that they live decadent, sordid, meaningless lives, and that one day someone's going to punish them. Notice the way they end up getting lectured to by the killer and not the other way round.

Haha, i never thought about it like that. But it's true, i did wonder why he took it upon himself to teach these people a lesson.

I thought the first Saw was quite clever, I liked the plot more than anything else. Saw II I think was very gruesome and disturbing (people will probably say Saw III was worse because there was more blood and guts but that's not the kind of thing that disturbs me. Things like the hand trap in Saw II are the worst IMO). I haven't been arsed going to see Saw III or IV, though I have heard Saw III was very gorey and, apart from some major twist near the end (?) rather lacking in plot. Haven't heard anything about Saw IV.

I have seen them all, and only really considered the first to be good. The others were just ok, but I guess that's usually the case with sequels.

I just seen saw 4 this weekend and i was highly dissapointed. It feels like these movies aren't movies, but set ups for the next movie. Meaning, they don't have their own plot. They can't exist as a stand alone movie.

You cannot see saw 4 without seeing saw 3.

Haha you are all stronger than I. I found 1 and 2 OK, still quite sickening in places, and I was seriously disturned and disgusted by 3 and I won't be watching 4. I am not doubting they are entertaining films though.

I hate the Saw movies. Its not fun to watch. Its not scary. Its just a wet dream for sadomasochists. Its like watching snuff. Its not that im squeemish its just that theres nothing to be gained from such a movie. I don't mind a movie such as Platoon or Blood Diamond that has gore, its just the truth and reality. In movies like that gore is used to convey the truth to the ignorant people. not for "fun". I just don't get what you guys see in those movies.

They are just a notch above Hostel, still not that good though.

I basically agree with you, I dislike it when movies like Saw simply delight in sadism for its own sake. that said, you can see them as an interesting indication of how American society views itself - even if the film-makers were not consciously doing this.

To say they was not conscious of this is to distort reality. They made an effort to be more sadistic in the Saw sequels, something which i didn't like at all. Saw wasn't that gruesome but the others were over the top.

Hostel was no way better than Saw 1. I never understood Hostel and think it was just a movie show torture and unnecessary nudity.

Jigsaw's actor signed the contract to also appear in Saw 5 and 6!

I rarely go to the theatre anymore, so I haven't seen Saw IV, don't intend to either. The first movie was decent-- Saw II wasn't nearly as good; never watched III-- there are only a few movies I have actually gone to the theatre to see in the last few years. For the most part I hate sequels anyway because they lack in plot structure.

I second that. Fucking theaters charge like 12+ dollars for a ticket and like 5 dollars for a medium drink and then 9 (yes I said 9) dollars for a small box of nachos with a little case of cheese. Fuck that.

Yo, you download the movie at home, and buy a shitload of CHEAP ass junkfood (I spend 3 dollars and well......it's all good) and you can even convert the video to an VCD and play it on a DVD player (for those who don't have DVD burners). Shit, staying home is alot better plus, if you got a girl (or a guy for those who like guys, I don't, no discimination of course) and junk food and the movie.....good chance of getting some!!!!
