Should We Study Marketing?
MArketing may seem like the pinacle of capitalism, but perhaps it has some useful information on how to "sell" our organization. The success of any radical party will dpend on the extent that it can recruit, gain publcity and advertise itself. So do you think it be a good idea to study some marketing principles and strategies and maybe think of ourselves a door to door salesmen?

If you want to learn how to propagate your views effectively, go out and do it. See what works, see what doesn't, see what other comrades do to get their views across. That's how you learn.

Speak with passion and heart.
Convey your ideas well without complicating things, give real life examples and implications. Be reasonable, treat their questions and ideas with respect.
But most of all, be convincing. If you yourself are not convinced, how do you expect someone else to be?

As revolutionaries, we should not be in the business of trying to sell an ideology.

Why? Marketing is the newest dirty word for what used to be, (respectfully) called Propaganda. We should reclaim the term propaganda. We should reclaim the term "marketing". I am more than happy to pit the leftist vision of humanity against capitalism's on the open "market" of ideas any day.
It's kinda jujitsu leftism: use the enemy's best weapon against you. Cappies have had no qualm "marketing" their ideas. What is so wrong with a shameless ripping from their playbook?

I would say, absolutely. Propaganda is an art of its own and requires particular skills and intellect to do properly. It is an invaluable and irreplacable part of any political effort. The main thing you should avoid doing is lying, since that will hurt you in the long run - but otherwise, the more effective your rhetoric, the better it is.

yes, there is no better weapon than being able to argue with the cappies in their own back yard.
While youre at it, it may also be worth reading theist literature (bible, quaran etc) in order to harness your debating with theists.
BTW I meant that sincerely it wasnt an attempt at preaching!
