The communist version of eBay:
No prices.
No money.
Available items from stores/distribution points would be listed.
Available (used) items from individuals who no longer need them would be listed.
For all other items:
They would be listed in terms of estimated availability if ordered now. Terms might start at 1 month and increase from there.

Basically, this eBay would provide the ability to shop, to learn, and to place orders.
Trade might also be possible in certain cases.
Barter might also be possible.

It could be used by consumers to place orders or to see what is available in their area.
It could be used by the 'means of production' to list inventory and announce 'newfangled stuff'
It could be used by some manufacturers to obtain unwanted items they might find useful to recycle or meet part of their future supply needs.

Would the "placing of orders for the future" by consumers help with planning production of those goods?

Apart from goods, could services be listed on this version of eBay?

p.s. could also call this the technocratic version of eBay
p.p.s. just making spaghetti and throwing it out there

I think they're something called Free-Bay where users exchange goods and services freely.

And theres also another one - cant remember the name, but theres a thread about it somewhere - where people can give things away that they don't need (which isnt exactly the same, I know).

Perhaps you're thinking of Freecycle.org?

These organizations are interesting, I'll have to look them up. My original post is asking what an online market in a communist system would be like and how it can contribute to central planning or decentralized planning. I think about eBay because I see an online market model which could be adapted...
