Because under Communism they have been provided with free education and medical care and have the security of knowing they always have a job and a place to live.

Communism keeps capitalist exploitation away. Before Commuism Cuba was being used by organized crime for such deviant practices such as gambling, prostitution, etc.

It is only due to the threat of Communist revolution that the capitalist system made any concessions whatsoever to workers to give them fairer wages and work schedules and other benefits such as pensions.

All over South, Central and Latin America a new awareness is occurring and they don't want to be used by the empire as objects for exploitation as they have for decades and decades. As long as Capitalism exists so will war, exploitation and impoverishment.

Only Communism can save people from being exploited for profit and more and more people worldwide can see that what the empire is doing is the only way and the final way for Capitalism to come to an end once and for all as freedom loving people everywhere REFUSE to allow them to continue. They will not allow their lands to be plundered for fun and profit for the corporate elitists.

Communism versus Capitalism is basically nuture versus nature.

Nature basically meaning dog eat dog.

The capitalist model is nearing the end of its cycle

Proof of this is that living standards have ceased to grow and standards of living are going backwards.

Therefore the model has to introduce false vectors to perpetuate itself, such as tariffs and subsidies, controlling trade instead of practising free trade and so on.

First, Cuba is not Communist. Communism is yet to be achieved. It is socialist.

Next, just ask what business is it to the U.S. government that the people of Cuba want socialism???

The answer is because they're afraid that a successful socialist republic can be done just 90 miles off their coast and they're afraid of Cuba being a good example for the United Statian people themselves to follow.

Actually I heard there are more afraid of this model spreading to the rest of Latin America...since the elite here I suppose are confident in their ability to "manufacture consent", etc in the US

If Cuba was to turn in a capitalist - it'd turn into a paradise for American tourists companies who'll jump onto the growing tourist section.

Just look at the other latin islands and see how businesses exploit them.

First of all, Cuba is not communist whatsoever. Many communists don't believe Cuba is a socialist country either.

Before Commuism Cuba was being used by organized crime for such deviant practices such as gambling, prostitution, etc.
There is still lots of gambling and prostitution in Cuba.

Communism versus Capitalism is basically nuture versus nature.
That's an incredibly naive and unscientific comparison of capitalism and communism.

Communism versus Capitalism is basically nuture versus nature.
You have to remember that different economic systems created different morals and worldviews. They're ALL nurture. Feudalist nobles, bourgeois businessmen, members of tribal societies and others all had completely different ethical standards and practices. How can capitalism be nature if its morals are only 400 years old?

Just something to think about.
