To be honest I take my hat off to the SWP if they do actually split from RESPECT.

Why? Respect offers unity and a clear purpose. It's better when there aren't so many trotskyist parties (as if there weren't enough out there!).

Inevitable I suppose, but still deeply dissapointing. This is exactly why I am not a member of the SWP (though of course they aren't affiliated with RESPECT up here anyway), they cannot resist having a good schism at least once every few years. I despair of the left sometimes.
