One's that deal with Marxism or Leftism or comedies in general?

As for the former: Goodbye, Lenin was pretty good, and I suggest it.

Office Space is funny and anti-work.

For comedies in general, i liked Cannibal! the Musical (and anything else by Trey Parker and Matt Stone) and Freddy Got Fingered.

Idiocracy is another movie that the guy who did Office Space made. Although I reckon it could have been done better it was still pretty funny.

Films or TV shows?

If we're talking films I'd say Shaun of the Dead, The Chumscrubber has its funny moments and is brilliant in general- same with The Science of Sleep. But for laughing your guts out funny I don't think you can go past Monty Python (The Holy Grail is my favourite) or possibly Blackadder Back and Forth, although I don't really remember what that's like.

TV

Seinfeld is the best sitcom ever. Frasier comes in second. I do have bad taste though. :P

House and Scrubs can be funny, though the former is not as overt about it.

Films

As ML said, Shaun of the dead. I think the Simpson's Movie was well made. Robin Hood: Mein in Tights, Spaceballs, Scary Movie 1&2, Don't Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood, Barber Shop 1&2 are all some quick ones off my head.

Watch Martin Scorsese's film King of Comedy. I saw it for the first time the other day and I thought it was brilliant.

Ricky Gervais's The Office is probably my favourite TV comedy of all time.

rev0lt- Frasier? I just died a little. :P

In terms of TV shows- Blackadder, Black Books, A Bit of Fry and Laurie (Season 1 is hilarious- plus you get to hear Hugh Laurie sing), Scrubs, Futurama. House does also make me laugh, but I'm a Hugh Laurie fangirl so I'm not sure if that counts. Doctor Who is also funny, without being a comedy as such. It just doesn't take itself very seriously. Oh and Firefly.

Edit: If you're feeling immature, Little Britain. "I'm a laaaydeeee."

Office Space was like my life. He was liberating himself from his bosses. So it kicks ass. O and it shows plenty of Irony in the work place. Great movie.

Office Space is good but end message it sends isn't very revolutionary.

Search youtube or google video some time for anything by Mark Steel - he's a British socialist comedian.

Charlie Chaplin's Modern Times is excellent in revealing the contradictions of capitalist society. I was just watching Zoolander, which is a story of a supermodel with working class origins, that went on to fight a fashion mogul who was trying to assassinate a prime minister because he was boosting wages in the textile industry. I love Beavis and Butthead Do America, but I don't think that is really a 'revolutionary' movie at all.

Has anyone else see the play called, The Accidental death of an Anarchist? I found it histerical.
