Anyone know of any communist related online political RPGs? And if not, who might be interested in playing on?

Like, simulating a ruling communist party of a country and what not?

I don't know of an honest-to-goodness RPG, but perhaps something akin to one might be to participate in creating an online 'micronation' through micronations.net.

By doing so, you could create a virtual government, conduct dipomatic functions with other virtual micronations, and generally see where it leads. The drawback to this method, though, is that there is no real *economic* side to the equation, only the practive of governmental procedure and such.

Do you mean a game where you roleplay with text on a forum? If so:

Postwar. (http://z7.invisionfree.com/Postwar/index.php?act=idx)

It's a Cold War game that's been going really well for the past couple of months. Some other members of this board play and it's really a lot of fun.

We will be cleaning up the memberlist of inactive players by the end of the week so come check it out :)

Bulgaria has no player and Poland is inactive.

As for some of the others (Czechoslovakia, Hungary, Romania) they have been on the site recently but aren't very active.

Just go to the Apply For a Nation thread and ask whether you can take the spot of some of the inactive players.

We need more cappies though.

There are plenty of countries available!

You can, but it has to be realistic. Britain isn't going to go Red overnight, just like Bulgaria might not have a successful counter-revolution with the Soviet Union watching over them. If you can keep it within the bounds of realism, you can do whatever you like.

I suggest checking out the rules though.

ok, confused

could you post a link to that thread cannot seem to find it

should I register an account before I request a nation and will they change my name after I have a nation?

any clarification would help

also, would it be realistic for one of the countries to make some small anarchist or communist reforms?

Yeah, register as the nation you want to play. If needed, we can change your name.

This game isn't so much where you just create your own fantasy and play it, it's based on the Cold War. Up until 1945 your nation's history is as it was but after that you can play however you like. Again, keep it realistic.

I am confused about what time the game takes place in... I heard people saying 1947, but how fast does it move?

Also, do all the events the countries announce have to be real events? Say I wanted my country to have a temporary coup, but that never happened. Could I do that? Or could I make up election results? Or do I have to use the real data?

That looks interesting and reminds me of this computer game called Tropico. I might get involved later.

Will you be joining Postwar?

I don't know. Paraiso is more laid back, less rule orientated, I don't know if I want to micromanage without an interface. We shall see. I really want to, and then I also don't. I would find out which it is when I do join, which will happen in the week probably.

yeah I heard about that. what exactly is going on. I heard that yugoslavia is involved and that the USSR might get involved (directly) which could spark a worldwide war.

Fair enough, although I guarantee you that it's a ton of fun.

yeah I heard about that. what exactly is going on. I heard that yugoslavia is involved and that the USSR might get involved (directly) which could spark a worldwide war.

Basically an insurgency sprung up in the north of Italy after allegations of election fraud that put the Christian Democrats power. Yugoslavia has a developed arms industry and is supplying the rebels in Italy, while putting pressure on the border as well. Since after WW2 my military received significant limits and restrictions, I can't defend myself too well so France deployed troops into Italy as well as the US I believe. The US is going to play a bigger role though, because my government met with the CIA and agreed (although hesitantly) on cooperation. The Americans are going to set up a stay-behind project (based on Gladio) and we'll be up to all sorts of nasty shit including but not limited to: terrorist attacks, assassinations, false flag attacks, espionage, etcccc.

In a nutshell: Some fun roleplay.

hehe, I just gave the insurgents $5000 :)

In this day and age, 5000 would be nothing.

If you adjust for inflation and all that, it's worth quite a bit more.

Cybernations is a good nation simulation 'game' of sorts.

http://www.nationstates.net/

Nationstates is a much simpler 'decide on a issue a day' nation simulation, but I think there are roleplaying forums for it.

This is my nation on nationstates, haven't been on it for a long time and it seems to have turned into a 'new york time democracy' !!
