"that's the way we do business in NSW now"
- Chief Po[o]lice Commissioner Andrew Scipione on the APEC police tactics
and repression
A discussion about the APEC protests and the APEC police state
A water cannon, cops on dirt bikes, over 6000 police, exclusion zones and a
special protester blacklist. Indeed, APEC 2007 was the largest show of
police intimidation and repression that this country has ever seen. Despite
this over 10,000 people came out on to the streets to show their contempt
for the APEC police state and the policies of APEC.
This discussion is a chance to not only debrief about the APEC protests, but
to also look at how we can respond to the current intensification of police
repression.
