How do Blackwater and other private "military contractors", i.e mercenaries, relate to fascism?

They take money from rich people (Well usually rich people because mercenaries cost a fucking fortune) to protect or secure their Capitalist intrests or from nations militaries to protect or secure their Capitalist imperialist intrests.

They're just highly paid government thugs who are able to operate with more flexibility and often are exempt from laws that official government employees are supposed to obey. In Iraq they officially function mostly as security guards for the state department or private interests, but of course they are more than that.

In principle, they just fight for the highest bidder. However, this inherently makes them predisposed to side with the ruling classes (or the fascist state, if there is one).

I don't know that they relate to the principles of fascism. Blackwater and other so called "private military contractors" make huge profits from imperialist wars. that alone makes them assholes.

They don't, they just kill for profit.

From my cursory glance, they sorta don't. Fascism's core support comes from the petit-bourgeoisie. These guys, on the other hand, are little more than glorified (and legalized) lumpenproles.

Well what if you were in an organization that is on the brink of attempting a revolution and you happen to come across a large sum of money. Would you not use that money to hire Blackwater to fight with you guys to achieve something. Just a thought, I am obviously speaking hypothetically. I just think that Mercs could be a useful tool.

Mercenaries don't have much in terms of morals, these are guys usually from the SAS or the Marines wishing to further their military career as guns for hire. I'm not sure how these blokes relate to fascism, thug has got to be one of the oldest professions.

At the moment most merc work involves guarding oil, pipelines, fields and trucks so they're generally employed by oil corps like haliburton.

Mercenaries have been around for centuries and are not tied to Fascism at all.

However the Fascist idea of the Capitalist and the State working hand in hand almost as one (which most people in the US don't see as Fascist) Is connected.

I was wondering if anyone could answer a question i have. Now i know it is technically illegal to hire mercenaries to fight on your side in war but countries do it all the time. What im wondering is how do mercenaries get legally hired. I mean blackwater , says it is a defense contractor , which is supposedly only there to help train and organize, but i guess im wrong. Ide like to know 9if anyone can really explain to me how it works. Someone in my class was reading a book about Blackwater and the title insinuated that they were mercenaries. Arte they actually large quantities of soldiers for hire?

They work just like any other 'contractors', legally they are identified as nothing more than security guards.
