I've read it several times. Baumann's politics are atrocious on many levels but the story is very compelling. I scored a copy from the warehouse of the publisher when I was in Vancouver a few years ago. It was an early but significant publication for Pulp, now Arsenal Pulp Press.
There's a great book of poems inspired in large part by How It All Began. It is called the 100 Most Frightening Things and the author is Jim Smith. Fabulous and scarey!
