YouTube staff are removing anti-fasicst videos

I just checked out YouTube and many videos with anti-fascists beating up nazis have now been removed by YouTube staff.

They have also banned the user "afa4life" who uploaded almost all of these videos.

I guess this is fair, as YouTube terms and conditions clearly says no fight videos, but i also checked out the videos with 50 boneheads beating up one immigrant, and guess what: while anti-fascist videos are being removed, neo-nazi vids are still there.

If you ask me, this is a decloration of war!

We need to organize some kind of protest against YouTube! :angry: :banner:

If they keep getting deleted, then there is someone on the staff that is an obvious fascist, because there is a lot of videos that get by them most of the time. I found a porn clip the other night on it that was there for over two weeks.

The concept that racists should be given the right to free speech is chauvanistic bullshit and usually comes from the minds of very ignorant and idealistic whites (though there are obvious exceptions -- ignorance isn't limited to white people). While it's easy enough for you to sit there in completely detachment from the realities of racism, you're eventually going to have to realize that people do not have the right to essentially institutionalize hatred and issue passive threats against others on the basis of their skin colour. Would you be okay if a gang of White Supremacists walked into Harlem and started telling every black they saw that they were going to enslave them or hang them from lamp posts? Few (if any) do this; but they spare no effort making it known that they support this happening. The simple fact that these people exist, whether or not there is any direct interaction or confrontation, is enough to put most minorities in a state of perpetual fear, alienation, and depression. Do you support the continuation of this?

In many cases, there is full and unrestricted free speech on the internet. The problem is that Youtube is a private company and if they don't want these videos on their servers, they don't have to. This isn't a free speech issue, it's a Youtube policy issue.

Not at all. It comes from the Marxist tradition. Marx, Lenin, Trotsky... all argued in favour of free speech in bourgeois politics - even for reactionary scum.

In fact, it is the 'no platform' stance which comes from the liberal and social-democratic traditions. In Britain, for example, Unite Against Fascism (the main anti-fascist organisation calling for a 'no platform stance') is chaired by London Mayor Ken Livingstone.

Come to think of it, liberals have often been among the biggest supporters of anti-free speech laws in recent times.

Yes, but we need to show them that we are not just going to stand here and watch while they are removing our videos.

We need to act directly against YouTube, and demand that they put back all anti-fascist videos, or remove all fash videos.

Or we could make a sort of "RedTube", "CheTube", "RevTube" or whatever...

I hate to sound cynical but even if Youtube refuse to remove the fash vids and put ours back up, its not as if theres a lot we can do against them anyway. Unless a comrade has the expertise to hack into them but their security is probably the cyber equivalent of fort knox.

No i think Leftube or LeftTube is much better because it better describes all of our beliefs (Anrachism, Communism, Socialism, etc which are all LEFT wing politics) instead of just Communist. And the word left collectivises all our beliefs in one so we at least like on this forum would be united in our struggle as LEFTISTS with none of that sectarian bullshit and the various ism's.
