Well, here's an alternative; the gift economy; http://www.crimethinc.com/features/13.html

As for the free market, the primary ethical 'flaw' of this system of distribution is; one only gains access to a good or service if one commands sufficient disposable income to pay the market price, regardless of how important or necessary the item is; because capitalism is an economic system based on maximising profit and not meeting human needs. Hence, even in developed countries, some people do not have a basic standard of accomodation.

how do markets work? (http://www.informatics.indiana.edu/fil/CAS/PPT/Rietz/tsld002.htm)

Here's an example of a market: how the stock market works (http://money.howstuffworks.com/stock.htm)

and point out any contradictions and flaws
One of the main problems is that the market system is not very efficient and quite chaotic as it tends to constantly experience problems, failures, etc.

An economic system in which production is based on need rather than being subject to the whims of the market.
