For the record, I think Oingo Boingo is a great band. But upon hearing the song "Capitalism" I couldn't quite tell if they were be sarcastic, serious, or making fun of little kids who say things they can't quite back up.

anyone want to help me out on this? I know that as a band they are capitalists, but what are their views on socialism?

Oingo Boingo are definitely very right-wing indeed, interviews with Danny Elfman show his philosophy as Aynd Rand style liberatrianism. They are one of the few rock bands to repeatedly promote this outlook in a fairly straightforward and undisguised way.

Don't just listen to a band because of politics; bands deserve merit based on their skill as well as their beliefs.

Just don't buy their music. ;) Torrent away!
