Alright well this is pretty obvious... but the easiest way to align your front or back wheels when you're putting them back on (ie: like after changing an innertube), is to pull on the corresponding front/back break, which will cause the wheel to stay firmly in the center between the two break pads.

Also, this isn't quite a "maintenance" tip, but still important to skirt-wearing girl (and boy) riders out there: If you're ever wearing a skirt, the easiest and least-revealing way to mount a bicycle is by laying your bike down flat on its side, and lifting it up between your legs.
