I'm posting this half because I'm interested to hear from any other university student activists here and how their campaigns are going and give a report of my own. (Please don't post what schools you're from if you don't feel comfortable doing so)

Yesterday my group had our first official meeting and had a strong showing of new recruits. We had a quick information session about our anti-sweatshop campaign, provided food, and headed out to perform our first actions.

We started out with mild actions so that everyone could participate and get to know each other. We hung two banners and went from classroom to classroom (at night) posting flyers, writing on chalkboards, and hiding pamphlets under desks, mostly for outreach.

The banners were displayed to send a clear message to our Administration that we are back, strong, and coordinated. In the morning, the banners were dropped from two different locations on campus at the same time, showing coordination. They lasted for about two hours until one was cut down and the other was furled up - record time for them being removed; I guess we pissed off someone.

I went to the ledge with the tangled banner later at noontime, untangled it, and let it sail once again. So far it's still up, conviently hanging on a building across from the Administration's office. We will only escalate our actions from here on...

Comrades,

Our campaign is picking up. We marched into the administration building yesterday and demanded to speak with the president. Unfortunately, he was "out". Most of the members in our club are socialists, some social democrats, others (such as me) straight up communists or anarcho-communists. Our campus group, United Students Against Sweatshops, is not explicitly communist or revolutionary overall, but the campaign being fronted right now is a direct assault against huge distributers' race to the bottom and would require the university to acknowledge workers' right to organize. We can safely assume that when workers' are coordinated and organized in the third world, things will snowball into a revolution...

If anyone is close to Penn State or attends another U.S. university and would like to support this cause, please p.m. me. Here's a link to the article about our action:
