one of the biggest factors is the way in which their mass manufacturing means undercut the local farmers of these areas. This in turn means that the farmers lose business which is detrimental to the local economies of these countries.
Another factor is the corporations blatant disregard for environmental consequences. In order to cut corners, many large capitalists will avoid spending on preventing their harmful toxins from industrial activity from poisoning the local air water and land. It is then left to local authorities to clean the mess up, with the obvious cost to their own citizens.
Thats all before ive even touched on the billions owed to the large banks and financial institutions which they refuse to cancel. Most african countries have to spend more on debt repayment than on their own peoples basic needs and amenities.

As a proletarian within a developed country, the established status quo is against your interests because you do not recieve the full benefit of your labour, most of which is taken from you by your employer. The media tells you that 'immigrants' are to blame because of their parasitic tendencies which 'are driving up the cost of living' when in fact it is the authoritive class living comfortably off your work, and repressing your right to debate this by firing anyone who questions the legitimacy of this system. Since the only way to a higher standard of living is through prestigious qualifications, and since the places of learning are controlled by the established class through ridiculously high tuition fees it means that all but the comfortably off are co-erced into menial wage-slavery simply to make ends meet. And that is if you are lucky, all too often residents within 1st world economies cannot find work and are left to vegitate on benefit qeues.

Usually either through direct intervention/imperialism or through neoliberal policies.

Check out some of the threads we've had here about imperialism and neocolonialism+neoliberalism.
