I've been going through a few debates about communism in the past few weeks, and have noticed that there are a few fairly important questions that I can't answer. This is why I'm asking help from you experts. (:
How do you think communism could be carried out today? I've been thinking, and brainwash (the North Korea style) is the only thing I've come up with. Any alternative strategies out there? Today people are so greedy and materialistic, that anything but brainwash would be difficult to carry out in the modern society.
Another question comes here. Why would anyone study five years to become a doctor, if you can do something that doesn't require any education, but still get the same pay as the doctor? Unless I've misunderstood, everyone gets the same pay in a communist country (or "the same amount of coupons", heh). It's impossible to give more pay to say a doctor than a clean-up lady, because in fact almost all of the jobs are equally important to the society. You can't just force someone to become a doctor, now can you? That would take away a whole bunch of freedom.
Now, enlighten me, please.
