What do you think of that word? I have several times been annoyed because it is to similar to the imperialistic globalisation. People I have informed have become a little too confused and just thought that PGA want to do the same thing as the "Empire"...
Should you find a new word?

You should probably explain what you know of the concept of "globalisation" first to open the debate

He is dead right the exact same term 'globalisation' can imply completely 180 degree different things to different people. It is almost criminally misleading as even in context it can seem to mean two totally different things to different people :
Corporate Globalisation is the exploitation of cheaper labour forces in undeveloped nations. In other words corporations being allowed to make their profits in one area but take them away for use elsewhere.
Social Globalisation is the erasure of national boundaries with the objective of equalising ;living standards somewhat.
The situation is even more confusing because depending on who you talk to the exact same action can imply either sort. It's confusing because the distinction rests upon evaluating intent and probablr long term consequences.
For example a couple of years back Claire short defended action clear;y on the grounds that she saw them as social Globaisaltion; I saw the exact same actions and interpreted them as corporate globalisation. Now should I agree with Short when she says 'globalisation' is a good thing or not ? Confusing isn't it?

world leaders the world over believe globalisation (or with a Z if you a yank) is a good thing that will bring prosperity to many but if you just look at latin america and especially argentina its obvious to anyone that the IMF and the World Bank who initially said they would help poverty etc have only added to it.
There is great debate over globalisation, naomi klein would argue it needs tighter regulation and stricter policies to stop more exploitation whereas phillipe le grain 's books 'open world: the truth about globalisation' argues differently yet i haven't got round to reading it.

It is undermining the power and authority of the state over the subjects though
However, is this a god or a bad thing?
My understanding of globalisation is a sociological one, not in terms of economical aspects.
I think this probably differs from you. You seem to know a great deal on the economic side.
