On the US Today publication, one article said the average American worker makes about $25,000 a year. That's appauling compared to average CEO salaries [$10 million] and what some top executives make [$100-300 million]. In that scenario it takes the CEO only 10 minutes to make as much as the average worker will make in a year.

Comrades, this is beyond words.

It doesn't add much more new information, but just some food for thought.

Net worth comparison:

Bold indicates that the entity is an individual

Kingdom of Jordan Jordan --------------$27.96 billion
Bill Gates---------------------------------$56 billion
Warren Buffet-----------------------------$52.0 billion
Grand Duchy of Luxembourg------------$40.577 billion
Republic of Armenia----------------------$14.17 billion
Republic of Albania-----------------------$19.818 billion
Carlos Slim Hel --------------------------$49.0 billion
Ingvar Kamprad------------------------- $33.0 billion

So, the richest men in the world could completely buy out multiple countries, and I didn't even include the dozens of tinier countries.

It is because of this that we must fight. I am almost tempted to kick start revolution in the UK but i live in a rightist neighbourhood with 157 millionaires around. as you can imagine im having trouble getting support!

How about the fact that people are making even 25000 in the US while others are barely making it into the hundreds?

lol! Are you serious?

But anyway, yeah, the rich-poor gap is horrendously high but does it really come as a surprise?

Can revolutions be "kick started" under average conditions? I personally do not think so. And unless you hold some sort of superpowers there is no way for you to start a revolution. It is not a one-man show (although leninists have a tendency to believe so). It is one class overthrowing another.

That's just half the story.

Howard Schultz's (the CEO of Starbcuks) salary is 1 dollar annually. But then again he has 1.1 billion in net worth, making him the 354th richest person in the U.S.

Bah, this reminds me of my bourgeoisie brother who makes over 700,000 dollars anually and has his own office with furniture costing 30,000 dollars, while me and other family members are almost drowning in debt. What a wonderful world.

It would almost be hilarious if it wasn't for I was struggling financially. If I didn't make under 25,000 a year and if I didn't have to pay 1,000 dollars each month for an apartment I supposedly own. One tend to talk about "rich families", but apparently under capitalism there is even such huge gaps inside families...

I thought that the average US worker made $36,500 per year. Perhaps the average pay is much lower than I thought, then. I always thought that I was below the average wage, but I guess I am right at average by this source.

And still, $36,500 probably is not incredibly high either, especially in places like New York and the like.

Africa has been really held back the past 200 years or so, colonised for its resources etc.... and of course the West are to blame...

China are starting to develop in africa however and are going to invest up to $5billion eventualy! I know they are red flag cappies as such but at least they are giving Africa a chance! Africa as a continent has been held back for too long and China are taking the initiative the West were too afraid to take. Some say this is just modern day colonisation....

I was going to post a link to a website but its hard not to find bias writings....

Any comments?...
Capitalists always invest for a profit. The Chinese capitalists don't give a crap about African living conditions - they are investing so that they can exploit African workers.

What axel said.

Some say this is just modern day colonisation....

I don't see how it is anything but the dawn of Chinese neo-colonialism.
