Explores are great. My cousin has the standard white one (got it cause Claudio Sanchez plays it) and it is amazing.
Is the action low on yours? it is on my cousins but maybe thats just because he adjusted it or something.

I have been taking classical lessons for about a year now. I think it is good to sit down and play a song in classical form from time to time instead of just rocking out.
Anyone here listen to Paco de Lucía, Ottmar Liebert, Andrés Segovia, or, my personal favorite, Gustavo Santaolalla?

Actually no, though there are definitely guitars that score higher in that area. It's a really light, easy to play guitar.

Guitar mainly (any). 13 years playing, teaching on and off for last few years, also fair few years of gigging/studio experience.
Kind of take to most stringed instruments quite quickly because of time spent on guitar...not great at, but can play to an extent; bass, violin(ish), cello, banjo, harp, something else if I am given it and half an hour to mess about.
Didgeridoo, fairly decent, not amazing. Cyclic breathing and pitch shifting are down, but I do get tired playing for more than 10 minutes or so at a time.
Bodhran, although fairly poorly. Started many years ago, but never really kept it up as it isn't a solo instrument, and was a bit to obscure for group playing....play it every now and then.

Claudio Sanchez of coheed and cambria playes some metal songs, but for the most part they play prog-emo-rock and his main guitars are explorers.

i play piano (6 years) and alto sax (4 years), vocals (1 year) mainly jazz. A little bit of baroque and impressionism. I am in a rock/jazz/ soul band, but our lead guitarist just went and got signed with SOny BMG so that kinda put a wet blanket on our stuff.

I've been learning guitar for bout 4-5 months. I bought the cheapest guitar I could find, but IMO was also the best looking (apart from a 5 grand les paul): http://www.ashtonmusic.com.au/productView....colourcodeID=12 (http://www.ashtonmusic.com.au/productView.asp?productID=22&colourcodeID=12)
I try to play electric blues and british blues. I'm learning to play Red House now; I've got the intro down-put. BTW, if anyone hear is thinking on learning guitar don't bother buying a 1000 dvds and learning materials. You can download gigs of learning materials off torrents.

Most Punk guitarists are usually actually pretty good, just that it isn't their style to play technical. Check out the Lower Class Brats, they have a good guitarist. They combine technical guitar with Punk, it's great.

I "play" guitar, though I only know basically three or four chords and about one scale. I can't even play bar chords fully (one string is always muffled). My guitar is some strat copy (I can't recall the name) but it has two single pickups, one humbuckler, and a whammy bar. I have an actual amp and one of those little machines that emulates different amps and a few random effects. It even came with a peddle!
I don' t know any songs, except for the first few bits of Blitzkrieg Bop and Beat on the Brat by The Ramones, a bit of Do They Owe Us a Living and the opening of Securicor by Crass, and all of Forming and (I think) all of Lion's Share by The Germs.
The style I play in can best be described as "power/speed/melodic/doom/drone metal crossed with 70s punk, crust, and 50s rock-and-roll." Um, I guess I sound like some bastard love child between DragonForce, Burning Witch, Flipper, The Residents, Dead Kennedys, The Germs, Danzig-era Misfits, early Cramps, Black Flag and Crass. But not all at once, mind you.
Aside from guitar, I can bang on a keyboard and make something that vaguely sounds musical. I can also work a synthesizer to some degree.

Its not the left hand that makes a good punk guitarist, its the right hand.

I was both vovalist and played guitar at one time. But of recent years, I have sang backup vocals, recorded and live. Now I just sing baby songs to our new 2 month old.
Actually when my boys were little, I would play the same tune and they would each come up with their own melody and lyrics improv. That was awesome.

Andres Segovia is a legend. Paco de Lucia is probably the greatest guitarist alive. I also love Sabicas, Paco Pena, Sanlucar, and Paco Cepero, and the likes of Francisco Tarrega, Agustin Barrios, Julian Bream and John Williams.
When people talk of great guitarists, you always hear Clapton, Hendrix, Page, Santana, etc... Apparently, Kurt Cobain is up there as well. Next to some of the maestros i listed, Cobain is not even a guitarist.
