\Blue collar is just a way of describing what kind of work someone does. Blue collar is manual labor (construction, factory line workers, etc.). White collar describes service and office workers.

Office workers tend to wear white while alot of jobs have oyu earing darker colors, often blue, to cover up the dirt and grime...
