There are still regular demonstrations in Copenhagen, half a year after the destruction of Ungdomshuset (Youth House). 10th of august 1000 zombies (horror movie theme) chocked the police and marched straight through Copenhagen to Christianshavn, they also tried to storm the stock market, but were repelled by the police.

This weekend, a punk festival called Shit-Town (earlier called K-Town and held in Ungdomshuset). Some 150 of the festival visitors marched towards Ground 69 and the situation was tenced between the youth and the police.

25th of august, a group of left-wing politicians from Enhedslisten will swim around Christiansborg (approx 2 kilometers) under the name "Jagtvej 69".

Also, an open mass ockupation is being planned. An open information- and planning meeting will be held august 15th. The occupation will be held in october 6th and everyone is invited and encouraged to bring food, ladders, signs, wooden placards etc.
You are invited as well, buy a ticket to Copenhagen october 6th!

Large riots yesterday (half a year after the destruction of the youth house).

Riots all night. Police cars on fire. Banks, McDonalds, 7/11 etc. smashed and plundered.
One police van hit the red light sign, policeman accidentally teargased the van from within. Police fled the van and it was destroyed by activists.

A sad thing bout those riots (witnessed them first hand and got teargassed a couple of times) was the destruction of peoples bikes and so on. Many people living on Nørrebro is quite fed up with their neighborhood being turned into a warzone time and time again. It somehow reminds me of the DK song "Riot", anyway these events seems to have fuelled discussions among the activists since many think the rioting stratedgy to be quite counterproductive.
In the last year the danish police has gotten quite alot of new ecuipment, and somehow I think taking a house and keeping it will not work out in the present climate, since the politicians need to show they are hard on "terrorists".

(Probably a stupid question) You're in touch with Oslo, right? I know people have been down there demonstrating. Has anyone considered involving the people who got Blitz and Hausmania recognized? They might know a trick or two when it comes to handling politicians and bureaucrats.

The youthhouse movement obviously has ties with for example Blitz or Köpi for that matter. However I don't think any tricks will help since the whole situation is quite a vicious circle now. Which goes something like this: politicians won't listen leads to riots leads to politicians cracking down hard leading to riots and so on.

G13 ended up with the biggest single massarrest ever in danish history, 452 if I remember correctly, just proves to show that cops break down hard even on peacefull demonstrations.
We are a policestate now in all but name, just a shame the left here wont get that changed anytime soon. To busy being disorganised or fighting over wether to put a muslim girl wearing veil on the ballot unfortunately.
