Against the Theory of State Capitalism

i wont post the whole article on here, but i do suggest this as a reading, for an insight to what the USSR actually was, most helpful and useful in debates

I haven't read the link Kamo but would this article be in favor of the theory that USSR was a 'Deformed workers state' by any chance?

If so we could get a decent thread out of this.

Ofcourse the theory that USSR is 'State-Capitalist' also has many problems. For example what is 'State-Capitalism'? I don't think there's ever been a country where the State hasn't to differing decree's interfered in the role of bussiness (for want of a better word).

If you look at the USSR in 1980 you see over 15,000 millionaries, eight million unemployed, the right to hire and fire for managers against workers and every government spokesman from Brezhnev to Kosyigin talking about the 'importance of profit' and how to make sure the running of factories and 'collective' farms should be independent of government interfence.

Capitalism no? Well I would say yes, but then you look at say modern day Russia or China, there's a difference. So yes there was something 'Deformed' about USSR.

Dare I say the link will say something about a 'Beuraucracy'. Ofcourse under Socialism there's going to be a 'beuracracy', but as Lenin said those who dream of eliminating the beuracracy overnight have there head's in the clouds. The question is rather how to use the beuracracy to everyone's benefit. Deny the existance of this beuracracy or try to 'get rid of it overnight' and your fail, but give the people the chance to expose, uncover and purge the corrupt elements (not everyone is willingly part of it, on the contray infact) of it and it will go.
