It is possible, though I don't think Fidel would have chose to do it. During the Sino-Soviet split the USSR noticed Che's ideology pivoting towards Maoist thought rather than traditional Marxist Leninism. It is possible that the Soviets could have pressured Fidel with economic threats to hinder Che's chances of success in Bolivia, though I'd hope it ain't true.
