Hello,

I didn't see this part of the forum, so I'll make introductions in here instead of just "Practice". I'm from PA and currently active in my university. I think this site is incredible and I have learned so much. I've spent a lot of time during the day browsing the site since I was in an office internship all summer. The closest theory I can relate to is Anarcho-Communism.

As for last week during LiveChat - I'll apologize in here as well, just for peace of mind. Sorry for being retarded and wasted. I won't drink and chat here again. It's great to see a place that has a ton of ammunition to use against the cappies (by ammunition, I mean debate points)

Hey and welcome to the board. Just a quick question, I'm interested in how you found this place? Just a quick statement of fact, anarchists have more fun :AO:, at least according to various surveys and interviews... :)

I was doing a google search for "rich proletariat" when I was working, because I was wondering if it was possible for a prole to be rich and still be a prole. Google directed me to a thread here, and since then I've been searching for other things I've had questions about related to Marx on the site.

My questions have been answered, and I've gained a lot more talking points if I engage a capatilist in discussing universal health care, abortion, and socialism in general by reading the debates in OI. I never knew there were so many different ideologies, so I've spent a lot of time recently learning about each one and how they differ from one another.

It's more informative than most history textbooks or Wikipedia

And I definately try to have as much fun as I can :)

Oh good. Then this board is a nice place to start. I'm also happy to see that you use the search function rather then start new threads like other people sometimes do. (I've been around for a bit, and I've seen the same sorts of threads a number of times...)

Penn State. One of the most apathetic campuses in the entire world. I don't think it had much activity during the Civil Rights and Vietnam era; a time that was famous for campus activisim. We're lucky if we get 30 people out to our rallies, and we had to go to court last spring because we were chalking messages on the sidewalk, supporting the Designated Supplier Program (Anti-Sweatshop campaign). Our local Wal-Mart has our pictures up evidently so the staff can look out for us. We've been known to hold a protest in front of the store and put leaflets in the pockets of clothes. We're also banned from meeting in the student store for the same reason.

A third of the students are Greeks (Frats/Sorostitutes), another third are "hippie" burn-outs who don't participate in anything political or useful, and the rest are a mixture of other varieties of students - most of whom are more willing to participate or listen, at least.
