The song "I Fought The Law" is frequently covered. Who did it the best? Was it the Clash? Dead Kennedys, with the clever lyric change (I Fought the Law and, I WON!), or was it someone different entirely?

I'm goin with DK on this one. You guys' thoughts?

For years I used to think that it was first done by the Bobby Fuller Four. It wasn't until a couple of years ago that I found out that it was The Crickets that first released it.

I really like both the Class and the Dead Kennedys version. I enjoy the Clash for it's musicality by which standard it is superior. However, for wit and criticism you cannot argue with the DK version.

just made one, it is the album the singles, it has a bunch of other good songs on it for someone new to the clash
