If any of you ever been to Whole Foods Markets you know how they are all about natural and organic produce and foods. right? I mean the shit they sell is supposedly sooo good for you and soo healthy, but is also SOOO EXPENSIVE! <_<

making healthy eating and organic foods a luxury and "the hip thing to do"

My flat mate and a couple of our friends all work at Whole Foods. And they all hate it. despite it's looks and wholesome image, Whole Foods Market it's slowly taking away from its worker the benefits it once offered them. They also makes you sign a contract in which you aren't allowed to belong or join any workers union and if you do so, you will be terminated and possibly have charges pressed on you for breach of contract. You are not allowed to work for any other Grocery Store for the next 6 or 9 months. If you quit or are terminated from Whole Foods.

My friends told me that 4 years ago workers in different departments used to get a bonus if their department sold a certain amount of goods or if they met or passed their monthly goal. they will receive a percentage, well this no longer exist. Whole Foods also used to give its workers the chance to buy stock. I forgot how many shares, but according to my friends this has gone down as well.

The more I talk with them, the more they tell me that they feel they are working for a giant corporation with no face. they have a different boss and supervisor every 3 months. I will tell you guys more about this later. Here's an article from the BBC.

Welcome to capitalism.

Same thing with LIDL I think.

That, and it is illegal for a couple to work at the same workplace.
Back to WFMI, I read through part of their annual report and it seems they call the workers "Team Members". How silly.

Did anyone seriously think that in the end we could make common cause with bourgeois and petty-bourgeois lifestylists?
