Has anybody read "The Wretched Of The Earth"? Any opinions?

I read it, I liked his chapters on culture and the one on his psychiatric complaints with victims of colonialism.

I've read Black Skin, White Masks and i have A Dying Colonialism but haven't read that yet, the same goes for The Wretched of the Earth. I actually plan on starting a study group to one of his books in that forum soon..

Wretched of the Earth ranks higher than any other book I've read on shaping my political thought. I would read it, then re-read it.

Have you read any of his other works? If so, how do they compare. Cause Black Skin, White Masks was kinda heavy. Not something you just read through, but really have to study and like you said, reread.

"The Wretched of the earth" is a great book. It really opened me up to colonialism, anti colonialism and changed my ideas on violence against and by the oppressed even when directed against each other.
I think that book is really fills a gap in Marxist theory, so it is a must read. I will have to read it again, as a few other people have noted.

If you wanted a more theoretical/philosophical discussion of Fanon you should have put the thread in one of those forums.
The Wretched of the Earth is the text of the 20 century that powerfully shows the affects of colonialism to both the individual and the colonized society and the necesity of violent resistance. I would recomend reading it along with Black Skin White Mask.
It should be a must read for those who propose absolute non-violence 'resistance.'
