July 30, 2007 marked the 50th anniversary of the murder of Frank Pais by Batista henchmen in Santiago De Cuba. The leader of the urban resistance in the Oriente region of Cuba was mourned by a mass strike anf funeral procession the next day as the people of Cuba mobilized against the U.S. backed tyranny of Batista.
