Anyone else planning on going to this? I will if I can find transportation. Hopefully it will be better than the last one where we just stood on the bridge and did nothing but sing lame ass hippie songs like Kumbaya.

I'll be there with some comrades. And this time I'll be coming better prepared too.

There are 2 in DC, because the fronts can't come together. September 15 (Answer / PSL) http://www.Sept15.org & September 29 (Troops Out Now / WWP) http://www.sept29.org

Then there's a real campaign that can actually do something about the war if people get behind it, the Shut Down The War Machine campaign, trying to build a general strike against the war for October 1. We'll be at both anti-war marches distributing literally tens of thousands of leaflets and stickers to build for it. If you can help (or want to ride with us, cars leaving from Connecticut, Maryland, Pennsylvania and New York) sent an email to [email protected] We need people to carry signs and banners, to distribute leaflets and stickers, and to talk to people about the day.

I'll try to be at both. Do you have more information on the Shut Down the War Machine campaign?

I would like to go to both, but I don't know if I can. Which one is supposed to be larger/more militant?

Ha, okay. I think I'm also bringing a red and black flag with a metal pole to double as a weapon.

I was thinking of bringing a flag, but I don't know if I'll be able to. I've got 2 riot shields that I may bring up with some spraypaint.

Like I said, if anyone is in New York, Maryland or Connecticut, they can ride with comrades coming to promote the SDTWM campaign.

It's hard to say which of the events will be larger, but if history is any indicator, the ANSWER one will probably be (though not by a huge margin, and that could change depending on weather, etc.).

It's being updated today and tomorrow, so there are still some graphics that mention March 19 (the day of the last action). This is a day for a general strike.. endorsed by two locals of the IWW, some union members, some youth and student groups, Mumia, Parenti, Churchill, Irish Republican Socialism Movement, the FPM, the RY and a host of other groups and individuals. There will be pickets/demos in many cities across the U.S. For now, I know they are planned in New York, Hartford, Pittsburgh and Chicago.

This one will be much bigger than the last.. there are already hundreds of new volunteers, and we have many more resources than before.

careful. I'd bring it but don't be to obvious cops can confiscate it. The RCP might bring red flags again.

I'm thinking of bringing a Cuban or Palestinian flag with a wood pole. If we get there and there isn't a black bloc or other concentration of militant protesters though, it'll suck to have the shields. I'm not sure I'll bring those since they attract a lot of attention from cops and are too cumbersome.

I'd gladly distribute leaflets at either or both of the marches for the SDTWM campaign and tell my friends about it. From where in Connecticut would the transportation be leaving?

Hartford and East Haddam, since that's where we have branches.. but if you're not too far out of the way you could be picked up on the way.

Send an email to [email protected] so they'll have your info.

Anyone know if a bloc is planned?
