On a thread dealing with the capitalist forum, Tekun and Bread Bros. said the following:

How much more do they wanna exploit ppl? Maybe they want workers to live in barracks outside the factory, in order to reduce free time and increase production

They dont "want" anyone to do anything, man. Remember, capitalism is all about consent. You arent an employee, you are a independent contractor. If you have a shitty job, its because you consented to one, its not their fault you're poor and have to eat!

Now here is my question people. I get this sort of fucking replies and arguments. when I try to defend exploited workers, oppressed workers at places like the grocery store, McDonald's and other average jobs that pay shit.

"some people can't handle and don't want responsibility, so they dont want to try harder"
or
what Bread Bros said: "WHY IS IT RICH PEOPLES FAULT IF YOU ARE POOR?

OR NO ONE IS MAKING HIM WORK A JOB HE/SHE HATES, THERE ARE TONS OF OPPORTUNITIES, ITS A PERSONS' OWN CHOICE TO BE A LOSER AND POOR"

Are you asking how to rebut this argument? If so, I would say the best way is to make statements pertaining to the working classes lack of education. When the employer has a choice of who to hire, they won't hire the guy with an associates from a community college (I know plenty of proletarians who don't have that much) when they can hire the guy with a masters from a state college or something of the like.

Because of the situation that the proletariat is forced into, these opportunities that they speak of are utterly non-existant. So, yes, we are free... to quit and find a new job that is just as bad. We are free to sell our labour, since we have nothing else to make a living off of, where we want... great...

According to the US Department of Labor

* Approximately 10.3 million workers in the US are independent contractors
* 7.4% of the US workforce is made up of independent contractors
Aside from that I don't know what you're getting at... :P

I think he meant the selling of our labour makes us a psuedo private contractor.

Oh I see.

In that case I agree with what Marxist-rev said. The illusion that workers look like they have a choice of what type of job market they get into is nonsense.

They don't have the resources or live in the right conditions to gain access to the "opportunities" for "success". Therefore they have to settle for a menial job that serves no one and profits nobody except their employer. Most people have to sell their labor to their employer merely to simply make ends meet.

Sure, they can decide not to work but there exist very few jobs open for them and more likely than not, they'll slip into extreme poverty/homelessness. Thus they decide to continue working for enough to pay off what they can of their living expenses and not try to look for a different job. Remaining a wage slave.

In my experience people who use caps will refuse to hear any rebutal, but nonetheless...

If you're active on the forum, ask them how many jobs they've had where they got to decide their own wages. I'm sure their answer will be something of a sidestep: "start your own business". Of course this would be a violation of ethics since we would have to employ others through the same method of theft thanks to our country's laws being hostle towards worker councils and shared assets. There's always single person businesses, but practically speaking that's impossible for most people.

Now, in regard to blaming the poor for low wages and saying *they* deserve struggling for a living, that's quite ungrateful. Our nice little world needs the patty flipper, the janitor, the garbage man. And just like how people are born into wealth and stay there without putting in much effort (Paris Hilton?), there are others on the flip side of the coin who are working their butts off all their lives and going little to nowhere. There are demographics out there: single mothers, fathers in high poverty areas, cities/states with high unemployment (Michigan), teenagers, the elderly, the mentally ill...

It's not even relevant what they aspire to be. There's bound to be individuals out there who love sweeping. Why should they be so underpayed that the bare necessities in life are a struggle? They're cleaning up after we're done consuming our weight in waste.

Okay, I broke out into rant mode.

I'm not sure if you asked for a refutation of what is posed in the Thread title, but I'm gonna give one based on my own experiences.

I now work 2 part-time jobs at the same time, I hate them both equally, why do I work there? Because if I don't I'd have to give up on a lot of things that are important to me.

So by simple economics I am forced to take those shitty jobs.
