Oh I guess linking or referring to that forum is blocked, i'm sorry!
They are seemingly a similar site to that of revleft, but with wayyyyyyy less active users. I figured out(thanks to search) that apparently it was started after a few detractors of revleft created it.
And yea, Rebel Alliance is the faction from Star Wars. :P

###### is home to the Rebel Alliance Leftist Community, group of leftists who have an internet community called the Rebel Alliance Forum, located at the message boards for the former Global Communist Partnership (GCP). The original members all came from RevolutionaryLeft.com, which they broke away from in disagreement with how the board was run. In particular the existence of the Commie Club (CC) and it's power, which the "leader" of the Rebel Alliance, Gent, even wrote an manifesto against it called A Critique of the CC. Mostly leftists shrug at this and call it secretarianism (to be a splitter).
The forum is headed by the admins, although it is fully democratic, with all members having a say in how the board is run, and it is open to all leftists representing any belief or politicial persuasion, although this is met with skepticism.
-rebel alliance article on red apollo's redwiki, more information at http://www.redapollo.org/wiki/index.php/Rebel_Alliance
bit more of background:
Recently, calls for the Commie Club to be reformed or dissolved had been increasing, by a group calling themselves the Rebel Alliance (Assumly a play on the Star Wars' Rebel Alliance). The group of dissidents is currently led by the example of the Technical Assistant of the site, Novel Gentry, who created an "manifesto" against the CC, Which wished to see power spread evenly among the ordinary members instead of what they see as the favoritism of the CC. They accuse the CC of whispering about members behind their backs, and some CC members have joined the group in response. They wished to see the plans they proposed implemented, but thus far no change has occurred. Currently, they are building another separate forum.
The CC Defends its existence on the grounds that any leftist member of the forum can gain entrance to the CC after displaying a decent knowledge of leftist principles and an eagerness to contribute to board discussion. The CC Also insists that a private forum is the only place in which members can post images or private matters without fear of repurcussion in the form of RedWatch or other harrassment of the individual.
It remains to be seen what will come of the disagreement, but moderators are alarmed.

LOL revleft is still blocking the site? That's pathetic, for the biggest international leftist site.
If RA gets more members it will definately be more fun and better ran than Revleft.
The whole Commie Club racket is a joke on leftism (a cruel one, too). I should know...I was in it.
I quit in disgust because all they do is this (http://www.revleft.com/index.php?showtopic=55531)...
Gossiping behind people's backs like superficial highschool girls.

RSOC I suggest you get over yourself. You come over as more of a superficial highschool girl than we are. No one cares about ultra-democracy on a message board, you know why? Because no one is obsessed with the internet like Gent was.
RA was an invention of Gent, a person with seemingly no life outside of cyberspace. He came up with the idea of ultra-democracy on Revleft, stating that the entire forum should be able to vote on issues. Of course that would be ridiculous, because that would mean that capitalists and Nazi's would be able to vote as well.
So you'd get a situation in which capitalists could vote themselves out of OI if they had a majority of active members in a certain period of time. Yeah, that would certainly stabilize the system.
Ultra-democracy might work on a small insignificant hardly active forum like the RA forum right now, but it wouldn't work on a large active forum which houses a lot of members. The internet forum is not a metaphor for society. There are no "exploited" and "oppressed" here, if you believe there are you should turn off your computer and cut off the source of exploitation in that manner, instead of whining about it here.
Thank you.

Yeah. I guess they deny that it was a Star Wars reference (I remember some guy claiming it was "just a co-incidence). However, look at the RebelForums logo; it has the Star Wars Rebel Alliance symbol in the background.
Look closely at the background image of the Rebel forums, and you should see something strikingly similar to the Luke Skywalker led galactic fleet.

See that circular looking thing? Or am I just seeing things? (It's white in Rebelforums logo, red in Star Wars)

What are they all about?
Same types of discussions but different board decision-making structure. And yes it was formed out of a core group of individuals who were extremely dissatisfied with the CC. AS a result, its activity has dropped quite a bit since the original departure/split.

Yeah I'm superficial because I hate gossiping about people behind their backs and quit hanging out with you folks because of it.
you know why? Because no one is obsessed with the internet like Gent was.
Says the guy who seems to be on Revleft's Chit-Chat forum 24/7 for the past 2 years.
He came up with the idea of ultra-democracy on Revleft, stating that the entire forum should be able to vote on issues. Of course that would be ridiculous, because that would mean that capitalists and Nazi's would be able to vote as well.
What do u think the "Exile" section was for?
I dont know how it works over there exactly...But under that section it says "For those in opposition to the ideal, they need not take part in our society, and we need not indulge them"----Which probably means they cannot vote.
Plus, something like that can be easily fixed. It's not like Nazis and capitalists could just take over the forum and run it from there on...It's Gent's forum, just like this is Malte's forum...They can easily "defend the site against Nazis", if that's what u are worried about. <_<
CC was a completely "secretive" organizing body (more so than today), in whic people primarily occupied themselves with slandering other people without the "victims" being able to defend themselves or even know about it...Which often caused unfair restrictions.
At the time, there were a huge number of RevLeft users calling for the abolition/reformation of CC because of all the shit that went on here.
So much so that Malte had to create the "RevLeft Members Forum" (the "buffer zone" in between Commie Club and the RevLeft in general) to appease the users.
The reason Malte gave for having a CC is to "protect Revleft users' private information".
Of course there weren't any "private information", only a shitload of pathetic gossip threads going on in CC...At least when I was there.
Regardless, I can see how gossiping and back-stabbing very much brightens your otherwise dismal life...But it's just not for me. ;)

When we were in the process of creating ######, none of us really made the connection between "Rebel Alliance" and Star Wars, because none of us were really that familiar with the show. To be honest, I still haven't figured out what this Star Wars symbol is about.
The logo was created days if not weeks after we split...And by then, the "Star Wars" jokes were already causing a sensation among Star Wars fans in RevLeft.
Then, a RA comrade generously donated his time to create a RA icon...with the Star Wars reference in mind, somehow.
Most of us, including Gent and I, appreciated his efforts and didn't give a damn about the Star War jokes...The only ones making a big deal out of it were hard-core, basement-dwelling, Star Wars-watching RevLefters. The joke is on them. :)

I haven't been very active for over a year, in fact, I stopped posting for several months in a row in Januari or so. Before that I hardly ever posted anyway.
And my posts in Chit-Chat are nothing compared to my posts in the political forums, maybe you've mistaken me with another member. Put on your memory glasses before you come on here.

Not a huge number, just a small number of idiots, who all happened to be on the Live Chat frequently (of which Gent was the moderator of).
He used his position as mod to fool those members into supporting that bullshit, then they went off and created another forum while spamming Revleft with their crap, trying to attract new members. Luckily Gent was banned soon afterwards.
And now? The Rebel Alliance is a piece of shit forum with a lower rate of activity than Stephen Hawking's penis.

You're a very sad little person aren't you?
If you cared so much about the CC and it's "oppppppressive high schoolish nature" then you would've FUCKED OFF from here and stopped bothering us with your whining about it.
But you haven't, why? Because your life in the real world must be really fucking unfulfilling, like Gent's.
Also I think it's pretty lame of you for not posting on RA anymore, at least not as frequently as you post on here. I see that you don't have any principles either. Typical of the armchair revolutionary.

Eh, no. The people who were restricted on RA were not able to vote.
(Edited for typo).

Yes but they were restricted by a vote. So if 20 members from stormfront sign up on RA right now, pretend to be communists, they could vote to let those people who were voted in the exile section out.
Yeah, I know, it's amazing how stupid it is.

No actually. If someone openly breaches the rules of the forum they are immediately restricted (exiled). The rest of the membership then decide what to do with them.
For example, if 20 such Nazis from StormFront invaded the forum and started talking shit, they would immediately be exiled. They do not have a right to vote or post in other forum sections while in Exile. Other members can then bring up a vote on whether to ban them, keep them in Exile or release them to post freely. In the case of fascists, it would almost certainly be the first option.
So no, it's not that stupid.
