Reminds me of how lucky we are that this tactic (terrorism) is left behind. Now about the images: I always love illustrated journals.

Those were the days :D . I think these were viable tactics (referencing picture one). Propaganda of the deed could be quite effective at the right time and place. I think a time could be coming soon when it might be utilized once more. It just has to be coupled with a strong public presence and ideological base, to counter government and media vilification.

The only numbers I found where in Trotsky's biography of Stalin where he stops for a moment to discribe the revolution of 1905 and the period of reaction thereafter. There were several hundreds, even thousands of bombings taking place in the major cities of St. Petersburg, Moscow, Chrakow, ... most of them just after the failure of the revolution if I'm not making a mistake.
