pacifica radio (http://pacifica.org)
The five stations are broadcasted from:
Los Angeles, California
Berkley, California
New York, New York
Houston, Texas
Washington D.C
I've only listened to the one from Berkley and the programming more often than not concerns local issues, though some shows are more diverse and cover things that can interest a broader audience. It holds progressive/radically left views. Some good programs I listen to are:
Against the Grain (http://www.kpfa.org/archives/index.php?show=47)-(Against the Grain is a radio and web media project whose aim is to provide in-depth analysis and commentary on a variety of matters -- political, economic, social and cultural -- important to progressive and radical thinking and activism.)
Counterspin (http://www.kpfa.org/archives/index.php?show=28)-(Counterspin provides a critical examination of the major stories every week, and exposes what the mainstream media may have missed in their own coverage.)
Democracy Now! (http://www.kpfa.org/archives/index.php?show=7)-(Needs no introduction)
Flashpoints (http://www.kpfa.org/archives/index.php?show=9)(Usually coverage of issues in Palestine, and sometimes local/national issues)
Guns and Butter (http://www.kpfa.org/archives/index.php?show=13)-(Guns & Butter investigates the relationships among capitalism, militarism and politics.)
Hard Knock Radio (http://www.kpfa.org/archives/index.php?show=14)-(Hard Knock Radio is 94.1 FM KPFA's daily drivetime Hip Hop Talk Show. It features hosts Davey D, Weyland Southon, and Anita Johnson who hit the air everyday at 4pm offering news, views, breaks, and beats.)
La Onda Bajita (http://www.kpfa.org/archives/index.php?show=69)-Spanglish :P (Lowrider soul. This long running lowrider cruising show continues to creep along with a mix of barrio oldies and raza knowledge.)
Voices of the Middle East and North Africa (http://www.kpfa.org/archives/index.php?show=25)-(Interviews, news and views concerning the lives of peoples in the region and politics that affect them.)
