So I love guitar solo's, and I was wondering which songs you consider to have the best solo's.
Here are some songs I think have some great guitar solo's:
Eagles - Hotel California
Pearl Jam - Alive
Pink Floyd - Have a Cigar
Pink Floyd - Comfortably Numb
Foghat - Third Time Lucky
Lynard Skynard - Free Bird
John Butler Trio - Ocean
Guns n Roses - Sweet Child O' Mine
Guns n Roses - November Rain
Thin Lizzy - Whiskey In The Jar
Queen - Killer Queen
Yes - I Am Waiting
Dire Straits - Sultans of Swing
Neil Young - Like A Hurricane
Neil Young - Cortez The Killer
Neil Young - Down by the River
Alice In Chains - Rooster
Led Zeppelin - Stairway to Heaven
Led Zeppelin - Dazed And Confused
Led Zeppelin - Achilles Last Stand
Led Zeppelin - Ten Years Gone
Alright, a little more than I wanted to add, but they're all great. I think my favorite would have to be Have A Cigar by Pink Floyd at the moment (but that changes a lot).

the Scotish band Mogwai does a cover of November Rain that has one of the best guitar solos i think i have ever heard ..... if you like Slash on the original you should check out this one ....
i searched for it on youtube or whatever but couldn't find it ....
however ... if we are talking contemporary bands, although guitar solos seem to have mostly gone the way of the dinosaur .... check out Built to Spill ... Neil Young is their mentor and they bust out some crazy solos

Been listening to it for longer than most of you have been alive.
And, to cap it all, I play electic blues guitar!
A Peter Green clone.
[Nowhere near as good as him, though :( ]

Jesus, Ro! Your taste in music is even worse than your taste in philosophers.

Pete Green rocks! (And is a good reason why not to take LSD).
Best Guitar Solos IMO:
All Your Love & Double Crossing Time: John Mayall Bluesbreakers w/ Clapton
Cat Blues (Cant remember by who)
Alabi Blues: Forget who by
Strange Brew: Cream
Red House: Hendrix (Buddy Guy has a good cover too)
Supernatural: John Mayall Bluesbreakers w/ Green
I Can't Quit You Baby: Led Zep
Albert's Shuffle: Mike Bloomfield (Check this out)
I Got a Mind to Give Up Living: Paul Butterfield (Bloomfield or Elvin Bishop on Guitar)
May I have a Talk With You: Stevie Ray Vaughan.
Born Under a Bad Sign: Albert King
Edit: Forgot this: Little Wing by Stevie Ray Vaughan (*Shits All over Hendrixes'*)

Good selection Martov!
You should check out Gary Moore's 'Midnight Blues' and 'Jumping at Shadows'.
And then Snowy White's many blues tracks.

Thinking outside of just rock music, De Usuahia a la Quiaca by Gustavo santaolalla is a beautiful piece played on the guitar (and sometimes on the Charango or Ronroco).
Anything that Tom Morello plays is great though.

Could you play any song you'd like? If so, could you record some stuff and upload it, because I like listening to people playing good songs.

Leninism:

I am not that good; I only play to amuse myself, and then only lead guitar (I know very few chords :( , and have an appalling sense of rythm :( :( ).
I spend far too much time on my site, and do not practice enough!
If you go to my YouTube site, and open the folder labelled 'Debbie', you will see there videos of a young Italian woman I have been in contact with who plays Gary Moore covers with the same emotional impact he has. Check them all out, she is mega impressive.

The site opens with 'Texas Blues'.
She is without doubt the best female guitarist I have ever heard. :o :o :o
