Off the top of my head I would say Mexico, especially if this resurected Che could travel back in time to last year.

Columbia, educating FARC on how to garner public support to overthrow that horrible excuse of a president Álvaro Uribe and his government.
or...
Nicaragua, holding a gun to the head of Daniel Ortega, making him follow the original FNSL socialist guideline instead of his social-democrat measures.
or...
Venezuela, mocking and laughing at Chávez getting labeled totalitarian for the whole RCTV scandal.
I dunno, I don't think he could be actively engaging in guerilla warfare but he would be touring the Americas educating workers on how to help organize and keep their government in check and in their hands. Which any one of us can do today, with not so much of a cult of celebrity following you, though.

If you were Che, I think you would have been killed by the CIA... again. But if you weren't, you would definetly be in South America.
South America, without a doubt, has been keeping the spirit of Communism alive. If a revolution is going to occur anywhere, its gonna be in South America.

I'm not sure how to answer the question, although I personally think we should leave Che in the 1950s and 1960s. The world and the Left is very different nowadays- Che was a great man for his time, but I dont think he would be nowadays.

I think a great man would be great at any time,as a great footballplayer like Maradona would be great even now,so I think Che would be together with Marcos in Mexico, but the problem is not what Che would do,the problem and the big question is what Must WE do

Where would Che be now? I couldn't say which country, but its pretty certain that from sunset onwards he'd be down the local dolphinarium...
P.S. Given Marcos' comment on shitting on revolutionary vanguards, do those suggesting Guevara would be "collaborating" with Marcos have this type of relationship in mind? ;)

Assuming that Che did survive, I doubt that he would be out fighting at the age of 79. :P

I think this question asks if he was resurected or something. That's how I saw it.
I believe he'd be in Mexico, where else?

actually i think he just meant a 'present day che'. Not some sort of 'zombie-fication' :P
As for where else he'd be, theres Argentina, Basque or West Belfast. Any number of flashpoints.

He would be in Ireland fighting the counter revolutionaries from both communities :D

This is the stupidest question ever. Considering that he preferred to fight wars then be in an office (although he did contemplate retirement during the Bolivia campaign) he would surely be dead already.

<<Che was a great man for his time, but I dont think he would be nowadays.>>
that's interesting perspective, Red Anarchist. Why do you think that?
I think Che would be in one of the areas that needed him --Somewhere where revolution is not brewing, but very viable, and needs revolutionary mobilization

It would be hard for che to decide what country to help liberate. I think maby Mexico first, then move on to Central America. Guatemala, And El Salvador need a REVOLUTION!!!!!!!!! .

Dead, buried in an unmarked and forgotten grave in Bolivia, the bullet still in your broken skull as your very image is tragically and ironically used by the capitalists at Che-Mart to gain profit.

Che is dead, let him rest. He was a great man, but I don't think he actually meant to survive anyway. This thread is stupid. We should learn from him, but we need current revolutionaries, not figures from the past. Che would be doing what he was doing up until the moment of his death: fighting for the people. It doesn't matter where.

interesting question, and qs indicated before im sur he would not be fightring anymore. i think he would've done something with health. but then again, he also indicated that if bolivia went right, from there it would spread to argentinia and the rest of latin america.

I took the question to mean, if Che was alive today as a modern day man in the new Millenium, what would he be fighting?
I see SubCommadante Marcos as a modern day Che. He left his posh surroundings to fight against the Mexican govenment to protect the Indigenous Chiapas Natives.
