http://www.parkour.tv/ is a good site for parkour, freerunning and tricking videos,i'd recommend checking out DimMonk and Blane's videos,as they both have very original movements.
http://www.americanparkour.com/ has some really good health and fitness information also has a nice selection of parkour tutorials.I'd check out the traceur Demon aswell he has some very good idea's for workouts.
http://www.pkvm.co.uk/ is Parkour Video Magazine has some excellent videos of clans such as TT,TCT,Next Gen and the Saiyan's
So how many traceurs/freerunners/trickers we have on revleft? announce yourselves! ^_^

Hey guys, good to see a parkour thread. Me, Anarion and Coggy all do parkour but I don't know of anyone else from this site. Maybe some of the RAAN guys?
My opinion on Parkour is simple - it's great fun and it keeps me fit. Are you looking to get started Y or just looking for tips? I'd recommend watching videos of some of the top traceurs like Blane, David Belle, TCT, Sin Clan etc, read about the philosophy and join .net which is a great resource. If you need any specific help or you just want to chat add me on msn.

All of those apart from the first one are kinda dodgy...
I'm going to a Hell Night tomorrow and if I get any footage I'll try and get a link up here for it. Bye.
EDIT: Rural video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d2868dQXOHs
If you're in a rural area do lots of strength and tree work. Find somewhere to practise the basics and train now and again in any nearby cities or towns. Remember, parkour can be practiced anywhere and isn't confined to an urban environment. Good luck.

I played the Tony Hawk Underground (I think underground, dunno) game and there was this french guy running up walls and flipping and dangling on ledges to get places. Is this real parkour or just tricking without a skateboard?

Ah, nvm. Wikipedia got me covered lol. It seems to be extreme use of surroundings to get places, as well as a sport sometimes. This thread spawned from a thread "How to Run from Cops" and I agree knowing Parkour would definitely help you in a pursuit.

Urban Ninja is Parkour then?
It's more similar to free running than parkour which tends to be more restrictive in what moves can be used. However, the main star also incorporates various martial arts acrobatic maneuevers into his style making it much more heterodox.

Well its not about the moves being restricted , parkour is mainly moveing about your space with as much ease and as fast as possible ... flips don't make it any faster and most likely slow you down .
