NYC Rally: Troops Out Now!
Monday - July 16
4:30 - 6:30 pm
Times Sq.
(in front of the Recruiting Station)
Stop the War at Home and Abroad!
Troops Out Now!
Impeach Bush & Cheney for War Crimes!
Politicians won't end the war - Elections won't stop the war - Only the People will stop the war!
In just a few days, General Petreus will provide a preliminary report to Congress detailing the failure of the Bush "surge" to crush the resistance of the Iraqi people. Politicians of both parties are scurrying to find positions that will allow them to publicly distance themselves from the failed attempt to colonize Iraq, while they continue to vote for funding for the war.
It is now more than clear that Bush has no intention of ending the occupation -- and neither do the Democrats. Despite being brought to power in the House and Senate with a mandate from the people to end the war, they have completely capitulated to the Bush Administration. The only force that will stop this war is a massive grassroots tidal wave of resistance.
Let's answer the report from Petreus on the surge with our own surge of antiwar protest and resistance, kicking off this Monday, July 16 in Times Square at 4:30, and building towards a National Mass March on Washington on September 29.
