Alright, every morning when I walk the dog right on the corner of my house I see something pretty repugnant. At 5 o'clock in the morning I see undocumented worker/slaves being marched, single file to renovate an empty store where some fucking tanning salon will be. From 5 o'clock in the morning until around 7 o'clock in the evening they're slaving away in the summer heat (today in the mid 90s) every day of the week--and on the 4th of July as well. Oh, how appropriate. What represents the spirit of AmeriKKKa more than a chain gang of slaves!
There's slavery happening on my block and I'm looking to take action on this. I'd like to get some ideas because some options just aren't available. If you have doubts that the Democrat Party is a business party just recall that the line of every Democrat politician on this issue is "they do the jobs AmeriKKKans don't want to do;" which, loosely translated, means "they'll work for $5.00/hour in unsafe, hazardous conditions and have no way of reporting abuses and violations because they'll get deported if they do." So, I can't very well call up OSHA or any other government agency about this because the only people who'll pay the price for this will be the workers I want to help--and, c'mon, OSHA and the other regulatory administrators have always been a joke anyhow, so why bother?
I was thinking about putting up union and other anti-exploitation materials up in the windows of where they've been working as well as pasing them around when they're on break (if they even get one, I'm not too sure about that though). If you could point me in the direction of any available resources like this, preferably in Spanish, that would be really great. I've been to the IWW's website and haven't really found much (it's a great org, but their website is kind of meh). Also, any other ideas about what I can do here would be most welcome. Thank you.
