Okay, I have a question. I was raised in an atheist household and am ultra confused on many things. I need to know... is Heaven the ultimate communist society. And, if it is why do so many people seem to be pro- heaven, but anti communism?

I think it has to do with the clash between religion and Marxist-Leninist communism.

However, if you think of heaven in an arbitrary way, not Christian, then it may be similar to an idealistic communist utopia.

Cthenthar,
Thanks for the quick response. While surfing through the site, I found very similar questions. But, I still cannot understand why people pray for me to be saved, when the reality is I am more saved than they will ever be. I don't believe in religion, but I do believe in the good of mankind

I've heard Christian philosophers talk about heavan being the good moments in your life whatever they are. In which case one could concievably experience heavan in a concentration camp.

I have heard people of many religions same the same thing. So, I guess in a way you are right. One could say it would be a concentration camp. But, I am not saying it exists or that it doesn't ...I am just asking, "if Heaven is supposed to be this great place where nobody starves, nobody needs, everyone has...isn't that the perfection of communism?"

No, even with communism you still have natural disasters and catastrophes.

well if you should accept that heaven exists, then you accept that the "kingdom of god" is headed by a single super-power. one who has complete control over you and your fate. you have no control, and you are kept ignorant of all that is sinful in the world. you are not aware of the concept of 'truth'.

therefor, this is not communism...

The mad religious quoter, quotes again!

3) Jesus said, "If those who lead you say, 'See, the Kingdom is
in the sky,' then the birds of the sky will precede you. If they
say to you, 'It is in the sea,' then the fish will precede you.
Rather, the Kingdom is inside of you, and it is outside of you.
When you come to know yourselves, then you will become known, and
you will realize that it is you who are the sons of the living
Father. But if you will not know yourselves, you dwell in poverty
and it is you who are that poverty."

-Gospel of Thomas

So really I guess heaven=Utopia internally and externally.

which doesn't exist yet, dammit. But I would move it there if I could; it doesn't belong in Theory.

Communism is not heaven. Communism is a utopia and an ideal society that we have in our minds.

Heaven and Utopia are just terms. I'd assume the concept is the same.

Well, I was speaking theoretically. I didn't mean in reality. And, I have no idea of what heaven is supposed to be anyways, so there was no reason to be rude (hazard). I was never taught any religious concepts, so I do find them a bit fascinating. Unbelievable, but fascinating!
