Hello primitivists nice day, what is your thoughts on the self-confessed eco-fascist Pentti Linkola?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IQ37WXda7TA

He advocates genocide, dictatorship and human extinction through biological warfare in order to reduce the human number. Personally, I think that he at least is honest, since he really really wants to reduce the amount of humans and abolish technology, and not only talks hot air about how cuddly the neo-primitive society would be, where everyone will hug each-other and just feel togetherness in their ecological farms.

A society works according to it's technological base. The reason that such customs as serfdom, prima nocte, involuntary marriages, and witch-burning existed during the pre-modern stages of development was not due to their eventual ideology, but on the ideology which their productive capacity and natural conditions imposed on them.

I don't think you will get many replies from primitivists (or at least overt primmies) because they have a real hard time dealing with criticism - their general response is to to call you a techno-fascist and then stomp off in a huff.

True, people of other ideologies do this too, but at least most of them have the balls to hang around and fight their case.

I respect Linkola's honesty. He explores the logical conclusions of the primitivist, misanthropic, environmentalist, neo-Malthusian outlook.

'Any dictatorship would be better than modern democracy. There cannot be so incompetent dictator, that he would show more stupidity than a majority of the people. Best dictatorship would be one where lots of head would roll and government would prevent any economical growth.'
- Pentti Linkola

Take away the rhetoric about rolling heads and dictatorship, replace them with words like 'regulation' and 'restrictions', and this guy is saying what every single eco-worrier really thinks - that government intervention is needed to promote 'sustainable development' (which is eco-speak for restraining development) and to regulate the lives of those greedy and wasteful ignorant masses.

Yes, one funny thing about many eco-warriors is that they compeltely ignore the production of items which are meant to be of low quality and wasteful, and then put all responsibility on the ordinary men and women who consume.

Is there actually any primitivists who post regularly in opposing ideologies?

No. They are most often trashed by all others.

These were the farewell words of one:

We could continue this discussion, but what's the point?

Leftists, enjoy your real world and technofantasies. They will both soon be over. Your history is one of failure and deception. Perhaps, before you realize it's too late, your college study group or party or federation will trick a few people into joining. But you, like all ideologues and technophiles are doomed. The thing about collapse or destructive forces against civilization, is it can't be stoped. There are huge vulnerabilites, you don't need a mass movement, and for the most part we could care less for one. All it will take is the will of those who lay claim to the deed. Maybe you can take solace in knowing capitalism will die too?

You can't argue with an irreconcilable desire for freedom.

and so for the arguements have been an anarchronism and boring and best, and horrorific anti-freedom wet dreams of domination at worst. (Perhaps yall watch too much star-trek and read too much science fiction.)

Unfortunately, he came back. And got owned again, and left. And came back, and so forth. Maybe because he senses the support of some of our naiver members, and thought this place had recruiting potential, who knows? A support I can't fathom exists, despite his obvious contempt for leftism and everything it stands for. So, yeah, one could say we have at least one. :(

So in short, we have had very few overt primitivists, and even fewer who were honest about it and called themselves that. But then we have had some closet cases due to our restriction policy, and several users who aren't primitivists themselves but claim to have sympathies and 'understanding' for their cause, or aspects of it. I don't know why they defend the primitivists, but one reason might of course be that these genocidal extremists make their own green agenda look more moderate?

As for Linkola, I can but laugh at his pathetic dreams of the return to a neo-primitive 'Poetry-Finland', as he calls it. Like a marxist newspaper's review of his works stated already in the seventies, 'Poetry-Finland' never existed outside the porch of the bourgeois mansion Linkola grew up on. And that's the only place it will ever exist.

i'm one of those with primtivist sympathies.

um, you know there are different variants of primitivism, right? like different variants of communists. so, to suggest that because one self-proclaimed primitivist wants to impose some dictatorship and murder everyone all primitivists want to do the same... that's kind of silly, to say the least.
