again, I'm really milking the "learning is never stupid" thing by asking this question, just like I did with this question (http://www.revleft.com/index.php?showtopic=68401), but what is an International? I tried looking it up but I can't figure it out.

An International is a grouping of political parties in diferent countries who share the same theory and analysis.

For what purpose?

So the stronger parties can help out the weaker ones.So we can get a first hand account on any major class struggle happening in that country. To create a greater sense of internationalism. So like minded comrades can discuss debate and help each other.
I feel like im missing out the most major part but i havent slept in a long time so im not thinking very well.
*edit*also i should have mentioned that anarchists have international organisations aswell like the anarchist federation, but im pretty sure they are very diferent to marxist ones.

I'll add: And whose material conditions for existence lie only in the 19th century. :(

Not really. It's the subjective factor and not the objective factor that stands in the way of a real international.
Considering that class struggle has broken out fiercely in many countries recently, and considering we are now in the epoch of wars, revolutions and counterrevolutions, it wouldn't surprise me to see a successful international with a mass base soon.
Probably much bigger than the 4 we've seen.

yeah, aren't there a lot of organizations trying to create another international?
but what would an international signify, if anything? Why are they just so hard to create?
