They are the armed enforcers of bourgeois law, the foot soldiers of the class enemy. While some might be 'good guys' and have chosen that profession due to a desire to help people out and 'do good', the fact remains that as long as the power in society is in the hands of the capitalist class -- the society is in the hands of reactionaries -- it's official law enforcers are by definition in service of reaction. Thus they must be regarded with uttermost suspicion by those who wish for a revolutionary change.

As Sentinel said some cops may me "good guys" it doesn't take away from that they are simply here to keep the order which is something the bourgeois want. They enforce the bourgeois laws, many times in oppressive ways. If we wish to destroy the bourgeois, then we have to destroy and be suspicious of any organization that is in association and help the bourgeois, and cops are def that.

when looking at something like the police, you can't judge it in individual cases, you need to look at a broader picture. Yes, some police may be truly good sumaritans who really would put their lives on the line to help others. In that aspect, there is nothing wrong with them.
But, when looking at the big picture, and the reason why the police were there in the first place, they turn out to be particulary nasty creatures. For one, police are there to protect the interest of the ruling class. This "interest" is often called "the law", but we all know who makes the law. It is then shown that police are merely pawns with weapons to be used at bourgeois disposal.
Also, when in a protest, who is shooting tear gas at you? Who is putting you in handcuffs because you were exercising that "freedom" amerikkka is so proud of?
And, when capitalism begins to fall, and nations revert to fascism to keep their power, who is going to be pointing the gun at you? (besides the military)
Police are not their to help, they're their to control. It's funny that most of them don't even know that.

Sentinel nailed it. The enforce the law of the bourgeois. Knowingly but more than usualy unknowingly they are just people trying to do good and are unaware that they are being used.
On a personal note, policemen freak me out. Along with doctors.

Police are there to control and infringe on personal autonomy. Plain and simple. Who breaks picket lines? Who kills your family? Who kills your friends? Who puts you in jail?
Police are the enforcers of capitalist law, the bastion of capital.

The thing with the police is that they are set to eradicate crime from society - which is impossible in capitalism, because most people who lose their futures have no other way than crime. Also, I don't like their "conviction" in protecting the society... like they are some kind of central force to uphold the "law"....

They're hated because of the fact that they exist--their purpose is to separate the haves from the have nots.
Oh, and to arrest your parents for domestic violence. . . <_<

i wouldn't say most are rascist (although I agree that too many of them are). IMO, most are just misled. also, most are bastards.

Yes police are the upholders of bourgoise laws. A lot are racist but not all of them. The ones that are, they are just a bunch of ignorant fuckers who havent got a clue about anything.

The historical role played by the police has always been a reactionary one.

Their base purposes are to distinguish class and defend property. They help no one but the bourgeoisie.
By the way, if any of you ever get caught by them, be polite, honest, and open. It will go a long way in getting them off your backs. i.e. if you have some pot on you, and they ask if you have any on you, just give it to them and they will take it and leave you alone. It sounds crazy, but it works. After having to work at the jail for 45 hours a week with a 5PM curfew during the summer, trust me, I know how cops are and I know the consequences of assuming your rights. You assume your rights, you assume the position.

i've always seen the police as an embodiment of the capitalist state. so that adds to other personal reasons.
not only that. they've arrested half of my family. my grandfather was set up and framed and received ten years in prison when i was like five years old for "conspiracy" none the less. i've saw every bad role a cop can play from shooting innocent kids, to racists shooting some dude pulling his id out of his pocket.
