Hey Revleft! I've lurked around here for a few months without registering, and it's great to know there's quite a few conscious voices on the Internets. I'll let you know a little background about me: I'm 18
I graduated from H.S. via a state test at 16, but haven't begun college due to being late registering for 2 semesters.
I look at the world from a Marxist view. I have been studying and learning the basics since I became politically conscious at around 15.
I loathe celebrity culture/Consumerism.
I believe in non-sectarian revolution.
I love people, however I tend to be quiet/shy/etc.
I've spent too much of my life trying to find an escape mechanism to fill voids in life, like playing World of Warcraft(ugh) and other non-productive video games. (Though I admit they've helped fill a social void)
I love music that's conscious, except country.
I have a thing for women in burqas, hyjabs, gas masks, or ninja masks  . (Okay that doesn't belong here but whatever)
The only type of people I can not get along with are people who are blindly optimistic/carry no doubts about themselves whatsoever.
I am Nicaraguan-American.
I'm currently trying to learn how to speak Arabic, and about Muslim culture.

Sorry if I driveled on too long, it's just anxiousness about finally being a part of something other than myself. I'll try to post often, however it usually takes a while for all the ideas in my head to form a clear statement, haha. Regards!

what's up? we're always glad to have more people on here, especially when they're funny, creative, AND intellectual (not to mention the fetishes ;) )

i understand about the (ugh) wow thing. i'm ashamed too. what faction/server do you play on?

Hi JUICE! Thanks for the compliments. :) Amir Sulaiman's poem in that clip was great!

My first server was Greymane, then got a free transfer to one of the Burning Crusade expansion openings; 9/10 of my toons are Alliance. My account expired about 3 weeks ago, left a few friends behind who still contact me, and they try as hard as they can to convince me to go back. <_<

It really got repetitive and boring--grinding reputation for items, raiding was too competitive for me, and PVP is meaningless. All it was useful for in the last month or so was to chit chat. I don't miss it at all. Also, whenever I tried to spread my leftie propaganda I faced harsh repercussions from Social Darwinists who owned trade chat and lots are guild leaders, lol.

But yeah, that game espouses a hyper-consumerist ideology that was unbearable and sickening. People literally transform into mindless jingoists for either their faction, guild, or get off on fictional items they get. Not to say that there aren't more casual and friendly people, but the overwhelming majority are that way.

i know exactly what you mean. the other day i was just about the only person who stood up to some fucker in trade chat spamming essentially "death to all x" where x = various racial, sexual, and religious slurs in trade chat.

i play horde, i couldn't stand ally. i like the "culture" on horde better, as well as the lore and the different races, it just appeals to me more, although the introduction of TBC really normalized that aspect of the factions, specifically for the horde.

props on quitting though. don't come back, you're better off without it.

i do like it socially as well though, i understand where you're coming from. my stepsister plays it as well as a few friends of mine IRL, so i have do have fun with it.

Yeah I regret not leveling up my shaman, she was only level 12. Horde does seem a bit more mature and down to earth. Problem is I was like 2nd or 3rd in charge of my small clique of friends guild, and they all needed help with this or that, so I ended up babysitting basically, lol.
